What client would pass up the chance of having a genuinely bespoke kitchen - tailored with personal motifs, whimsy or downright tongue-in-cheek fun? Well, not everyone but for those who do why not mimic the culinary arts and serve up a vignette of solid woods in contrasting colours, veneered burrs inset with brushed steel and off-set with sea-shell detailing?
Shouldn't the design of this most dynamic and creative space with all its aromas, recipes and joie de vie deserve some real character? Too little spirit makes for wishy-washy design and so, to quote Oscar Wilde, 'nothing succeeds like excess'.

This design has its antecedence in Arts & Crafts and Aesthetic Movement principles from the late 19th and early 20th centuries: there the similarity ends! Traditional oak has been replaced with sycamore and blue/grey bird's eye maple detailing thereby confirming the design's 21st century credentials. The chequer sideboard is a further illustration of Mark Cranfield's passion for colour and texture within a furniture context and is the first in a developmental line of free-standing kitchen/dining pieces."

"This design further explores the concept of the 'free-standing' kitchen. It constitutes one of a range of couture pieces specifically designed to enable the creation of a truly client-based kitchen dedicated to specific requirement. The Veggie Station was conceived to answer the need for dedicated vegetable and fruit preparation within a domestic kitchen environment. Piet Mondrian's painting 'Broadway Boogie Woogie' c1942/3 inspired the decorative appearance while the practical considerations of preparation are purely functional.
The Veggie Station's lighting is designed to give the kitchen a sophisticated ambience after dark when food preparation is no longer required. Seen as "kitchen couture", this design is complemented by the 'Café Port' and 'Dante's Inferno', coffee and cooking stations respectively."

"Larder cupboards are rarely this much fun! Working through the concept of free-standing kitchen furniture a little further, this design is immensely practical and has a comprehensive arrangement of drawers, cupboards and pull-out sections which are suitable for storage and preparation of food alike. Finished in Maple and oak burr, this addition to the kitchen would be hard to miss."
The kitchen of today is more often seen as an integral part of the living and entertainment space within a home rather than a purely functional space to prepare food in isolation.
As a result the status of the kitchen has risen with design consequences for the appearance, layout and ambience of this important domestic space. To this end Mark Cranfield Furniture offers a range of integrated or free-standing design concepts to suit individual needs and aspirations.
